NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 18, 2010) -  Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording artist Travie McCoy has announced the world premiere of the much-anticipated video for his current smash single, "Need You." The clip will debut via an exclusive VH1 Top 20 premiere on on Tuesday, October 19th, followed by its television premiere on the next installment of VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown, set to air on Saturday, October 23rd (check local listings). For behind-the-scenes photos from the "Need You" video shoot, please visit Travie's page on the Fueled By Ramen press site at

In addition, a deluxe single edition of "Need You" is slated for release, gathering the original album version, an exclusive remix by The Smeezingtons' Ari Levine, and the track's companion video. "Need You" arrives at all DSPs on Tuesday, November 2nd.

"Need You" -- featured on Travie's blockbuster solo debut, "LAZARUS" -- is already shaping up as another massive hit for the Gym Class Heroes frontman. Having only just arrived at CHR/Top 40 radio outlets nationwide, the song is quickly ascending the format's competitive airplay chart. Travie recently introduced the track with TV appearances on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (where he was joined by Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump on guitar and vocals) and Fuse's A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus. The latter performance can currently be viewed online at

In other news, Travie has just received a prestigious American Music Award nomination for "T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist of the Year." Unlimited votes can now be cast at, with the winner to be announced at ABC's upcoming 2010 American Music Awards extravaganza, set to air live on Sunday, November 21st at 8/7c (check local listings).

This week, Travie kicks off his first-ever solo European tour, slated to hit England, Scotland, Germany, Denmark, France, Sweden, and The Netherlands with dates running through early November (see below itinerary). The tour -- which has already sold out its five U.K. dates -- sees McCoy joined by Elektra recording artist Bruno Mars, with whom he collaborated on the chartbusting Top 3 hit, "Billionaire (Feat. Bruno Mars)." A charismatic, crowd-pleasing live performer, Travie has spent much of the past year on the road, sharing stages with Photo Finish recording duo 3OH!3 and Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen labelmates Cobra Starship on MTV's epic "Too Fast For Love" tour, and supporting Rihanna and Ke$ha at such massive venues as New York's Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles' Staples Center, and Miami's American Airlines Center.

"Billionaire (Feat. Bruno Mars)" is without doubt one of 2010's defining hit singles. The 2x RIAA platinum-certified track has proven an unqualified multi-format phenomenon, drawing a cumulative audience in excess of 1 billion. Travie also teamed with Mars for a series of high-profile TV performances of their collaborative smash, including joint appearances on ABC's The View, NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, VH1's Do Something Awards, TBS' Lopez Tonight, and Fox's 2010 Teen Choice Awards. The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards saw Travie pair up with electronic music artist DeadMau5 for an inventive rendition of the hit single. What's more, "Billionaire" was among the featured songs performed on the highly rated second season premiere of Fox's Glee.

Known far and wide as the frontman of alternative hip-hop superstars Gym Class Heroes, "LAZARUS" sees McCoy teaming up with a diverse roster of talent for a genre-busting, groundbreaking solo debut. The album has quickly reaped critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone waxing rhapsodic over "some of the most likable, radio-ready pop songs you'll hear all year." In its three-starred rave, USA Today hailed the album's "shiny all-night party gems such as 'Dr. Feel Good' (featuring Cee Lo Green)," while noting "the true keeper is the introspective 'The Manual,' featuring T-Pain and Young Cash." Spin summed it up, naming the collection one of "The 25 Summer Albums That Matter Most" and declaring "'LAZARUS' is so bright you'll need (designer) shades."

McCoy, of course, first achieved international stardom in 2006 with Gym Class Heroes' RIAA gold certified "AS CRUEL AS SCHOOL CHILDREN," which featured the #1 multi-format hit, "Cupid's Chokehold/Breakfast In America." The following year saw them named "Best New Artist" at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. "THE QUILT," released in 2008, earned critical praise for its unique collaborations with such diverse stars as Busta Rhymes, Estelle, The-Dream, and Daryl Hall. McCoy and Gym Class Heroes are currently hard at work writing a new album, due out next year.
