Treat Dental Fear at Fairfield Family Dental Office

FAIRFIELD, OH--(Marketwired - November 16, 2015) - The answer to dental fear might be right under your nose. Dr. Andrew Dine, a family dentist in Fairfield, has added new scented nitrous oxide masks for patients who struggle to get comfortable at the dentist.

The masks, which come in the scents of orange and french vanilla, allow Dr. Dine to render nitrous oxide for patients who suffer from dental fear or are nervous about a certain dental procedure.

"Sedation is a great way to help patients get over their fear of the dentist, and this added feature has made the entire experience more comfortable and enjoyable," Dr. Dine said.

Nitrous oxide is a mild form of sedation that relaxes the patient while they sit in the dental chair. The treatment is safe and wears off quickly. Dr. Dine has trained in sedation dentistry and carefully monitors every patient he recommends for nitrous oxide.

About 20 percent of Americans suffer from some level of dental fear. Dr. Dine said some patients put off going to the dentist because they fear what they might be told about their oral health or cannot stand the sights, smells and sounds of the procedures.

"The laughing gas is a great tool that lets patients receive the care they need and deserve," Dr. Dine said. "If you have a mild fear of the dentist, there are options available for you, like nitrous oxide. By putting off a visit to the dentist, you'll likely only increase the number of problems in your mouth and incur more costly treatments down the road."

Dr. Dine has been in practice for nearly 40 years, serving the communities of Fairfield, Fairfield Township, Middletown, Ross, Hamilton, West Chester, Liberty Township and areas in Butler County, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1971 and Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1976.

His practice -- Clock Tower Place, 1251 Nilles Rd., Ste. 16 -- offers preventive care, cosmetic dentistry (tooth-colored fillings, teeth whitening at the dentist, Sinsational Smile), restorations (dental crowns, dental bridges, root canal procedures and implant-supported dentures) and gum disease treatments. Dr. Dine's practice uses a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine that provides images instantly, uses 80 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays and does not require the patient to have the uncomfortable X-ray film in their mouth.

Dr. Dine began offering Fastbraces™ in 2014. The brackets used with Fastbraces™ work on a different mechanical principle than that of traditional braces. The patented system uses an innovative triangular bracket and a specially shaped square wire to correct the position of the root and the crown of the tooth from the beginning of treatment. Because Fastbraces™ realigns the root and crown simultaneously, it works in half the time of traditional braces, which realign the two in separate stages.

Dr. Dine recently introduced Invisalign, a system that uses clear aligners to move teeth into a more appropriate position. Instead of brackets and wires, Invisalign uses plastic trays that can be easily removed for cleaning and eating.

Dr. Dine is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor given to dentists who have taken 500 hours of continuing education and passed a seven-hour written examination on all disciplines of dentistry. He is a member of the Ohio Dental Association, Cincinnati Dental Society, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and Better Business Bureau. He also is a founding member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health.

Dr. Dine makes it his mission to serve all families and patients, which is why his office offers special financing programs for treatment.
