TRF Energy Solutions Converts Field Gas Into Fuel for Cost-Conscious Customers

THE WOODLANDS, TX--(Marketwired - December 16, 2014) - As oil prices continue to drop, owners of drilling rigs are finding that the price of diesel fuel is enticingly similar to that of environmentally friendly natural gas. TRF Energy Solutions, a leading all-fuels provider, is drawing attention to a different option -- field gas that is readily available, abundant, and an inexpensive fuel source for drill rigs and pressure pumping spreads.

With oil and diesel neck-and-neck at around $2.50 a gallon, field gas can be captured for high horsepower fuel at roughly a 1/3rd of the cost of current diesel prices, depending on location. Fueling with field gas can be tricky as it may contain impurities that can affect the efficiency of high horsepower engines, and especially liquids that can damage engines if not treated correctly. Houston-based TRF Energy Solutions provides all the necessary dehydration and gas-processing equipment to capture and utilize existing field gas at a fraction of the price of other options.

TRF Energy Solutions is unique in that it can provide a fully integrated system to capture and process gas for HHP fueling as it has done for some of the largest customers in North America, including Chesapeake Energy, Shell Oil and Weatherford. TRF Energy Solutions has converted over 80 dual-fuel drilling rigs and pressure pumping spreads and operates in all the major shale plays within the US.

"We are a true all-fuels provider, unlike any other," said Sam Thigpen, CEO of TRF Energy Solutions. "If you want to fuel a pressure-pumping spread on field gas, we are uniquely qualified after completing over 2,500 stages over the past couple of years."

TRF Energy is the leader in all-fuels solutions for high-horsepower natural gas fueling solutions including onsite fueling for drilling, pressure pumping and other industrial applications with LNG, CNG and field gas. The company provides a variety of options to meet the remote power generation needs of oil and gas producers for well site operations and provides equipment for flare mitigation though liquids capture and NGL monetization.

Thigpen Energy, Recapture Solutions and Flex Leasing Power and Service (FLPS) recently merged to become TRF Energy Solutions. TRF Energy Solutions offers a comprehensive suite of natural gas solutions including remote power, natural gas fueling and flare reduction to customers across the US, Canada, South America and Europe.

Based in The Woodlands, Texas, TRF Energy has a strong presence in the Gulf Coast, Rockies, Permian, Eagle Ford, Bakken, Mid-Continental and Appalachian Regions.
