Tri-State LED Completes LED Retrofit of New York Data Centers for Telehouse America

LED retrofit will reduce lighting energy use by more than 65% annually; project installs more than 6,000 of Revolution Lighting Technologies' industry-leading T8 SEP LED tubes

GREENWICH, CT--(Marketwired - November 16, 2016) - Tri-State LED, a division of Revolution Lighting Technologies, announced today it has recently completed an LED lighting retrofit for Telehouse America, a global leader in data center infrastructure solutions. The retrofit occurred at two of the company's New York City data center locations, located in Manhattan and Staten Island, New York, and involved the complete retrofit of existing fluorescent lighting that will reduce the facility's lighting energy use by over 65%.

Tri-State LED's comprehensive "turnkey" services began with the detailed testing and evaluation of Revolution Lighting's T8 LED tube products, concluding the LED retrofit would increase lighting efficiency by more than 65%, while increasing light output for enhanced safety. After the initial phases of project development, Tri-State LED worked closely with Telehouse America, managing all phases of the LED retrofit program including scope and budget development, final material selection, pursuit of project incentives, bidding and project management.

The lighting retrofit replaces the data center's antiquated T12 fluorescent tube lighting with more than 6,000 of Revolution Lighting's LED tubes, delivering superior efficiency, longevity and light output. Lasting three times longer than conventional lighting, LED tubes have a rated lamp life of more than 70,000 hours, combined with Revolution Lighting's market leading 10-year warranty, to provide significant long term maintenance and energy savings for Telehouse America.

"After extensive testing and verification of the LED tube products with Tri-State LED, it was clear we would exceed our energy saving goals throughout our data center facilities," said Michael Alvaro, Sr. Project Engineer, Telehouse America. "Tri-State LED acted as an invested partner, providing the extensive time and effort necessary, in particular throughout critical decision making processes, to ensure a successful project."

"We are proud to work closely with Telehouse America, bringing together the best LED products in the market today with an experienced and knowledgeable team to successfully achieve their energy efficiency goals," said Ron Young, President, Tri-State LED. "Selection by Telehouse America demonstrates the confidence in our company's dedication to delivering quality service at every point in a project."

In 2013, U.S. data centers consumed an estimated 91 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. That consumption is projected to increase by roughly 40 billion kilowatt-hours annually by 2020, costing American businesses $13 billion annually in electricity, providing a significant opportunity for Tri-State LED and Revolution Lighting Technologies.
