Tri-Valley Oil & Gas Hires James Bush as Vice President, Exploration

BAKERSFIELD, CA--(Marketwire - June 7, 2007) - Tri-Valley Corporation (AMEX: TIV) has appointed James G. Bush as Vice President, Exploration of its wholly owned subsidiary, Tri-Valley Oil & Gas Co. He will report to Joseph R. Kandle, President of TVOG.

Mr. Bush has a wide range of experience in exploration projects for Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO) and consulting heavy industry and natural resource businesses. He began his post masters degree career as an economic geologist for Anaconda Copper Company. He then spent the next 29 years in positions of consistently greater responsibility with mineral, oil and gas and consulting firms. Presently with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory at Richland, Washington, Mr. Bush managed the Natural Resources Division Business and Technology Development at the division level. This includes research in unconventional reservoirs.

He is a licensed professional geologist in Alaska and Washington, is certified by the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Alaskan Geological Society, and the Society of Mining Engineers, and has held past memberships in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Society of Exploration Paleontologists and Mineralogists, and the Association of Groundwater Scientists and Engineers.

He has considerable experience in both clastic and carbonate environments leading numerous evaluations and drilling projects in California, Alaska, Wyoming and Texas.

A graduate of Ohio State University with a B.S. in geology, Mr. Bush holds a M.S. degree in geology from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

While at PNNL, Mr. Bush led the formation of a new business unit for Battelle to deal with unconventional reservoirs and energy sources and is familiar with Tri-Valley's two large California discoveries in unconventional reservoirs, the Ekho No. 1 deep well some 45 miles north west of Bakersfield and the Sunrise Natural Gas Project 30 miles north of Bakersfield.

Mr. Bush's immediate projects will be to prepare Tri-Valley's deep, large target Oil King Exploration prospect for drilling in California's Great Central Valley followed by a drilling campaign on the Moffat Ranch Gas Field also in the valley. He will further systematize Tri-Valley's proprietary geologic library, which contains 700 leads and prospects.
