Tribute's Over-Limit Sample Returns 35.5% Zinc

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 19, 2006) - Tribute Minerals Inc. (the 'Company' or 'Tribute') (TSX VENTURE:TBM) is pleased to announce additional results from its 2006 summer drill program on the Arrow Zone, Garnet Lake Property, Northwestern Ontario. The sample from drill-hole GL-2006-27, containing an over-limit Zn content of greater than 30% (News Release: August 29, 2006), has been re-analysed and returned a value of 35.5% Zinc. As a result, the previously announced intersection from this hole is revised upwards to 9.6% Zn, 0.66% Cu, 0.70 g/t Au, 23.8 g/t Ag and 33.2 g/t Indium over 4.15 metres (3.2 metres true width). This represents the third over limit sample returned this year and the15th drill sample overall with greater than 30% Zinc from the Arrow Zone. Additional assay results are pending from completed holes collared on the north side of Garnet Lake including the first hole from the fall drill program started at the end of September. This ongoing program is continuing to test the Arrow Zone, which remains open down-plunge to the west.

Drill core samples were split in half using a diamond saw and sealed in secure packages, shipped by bonded carrier from Red Lake to ALS Chemex in Thunder Bay for preparation, and to ALS Chemex in North Vancouver for AU-AA62 assay (gold by fire assay with AA finish) and ME-MS61 47 element analysis (4 acid dissolution and ICP-MS). High analyses (greater than 10,000 ppm, 1%) for copper, zinc and (greater than 100 ppm) silver were submitted for ore grade AA62 analysis (4 acid dissolution with AA finish). The over-limit assay for zinc was completed by titration (Zn-VOL50). A duplicate unknown to the laboratory is submitted for analyses per batch of ten samples. ALS Chemex fulfilled standard QA/QC protocols. The Confederation Lake exploration program is under the direction of Trevor Boyd, P.Geo, Geological Consultant, Tribute, and a qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101
