Triex Minerals Corporation: West Carswell Property Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 11, 2005) - Triex Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:TXM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that exploration has begun on its 100% owned West Carswell Property, located in the southwestern part of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan (see for location map).

A Fugro MEGATEM airborne survey (EM-MAG) totaling approximately 420 line-kilometres at a 300 metre line spacing has been flown over the entire property. Follow-up diamond drilling is planned for the 2005/2006 winter season, pending interpretation of airborne data and integration with regional data sets. The total cost of the West Carswell exploration program, including airborne geophysics, is budgeted at approximately $600,000.

As announced on July 13, 2005, the West Carswell Property comprises 8,157 hectares in two claim blocks. It is located in the southwestern portion of the Athabasca Basin in northwestern Saskatchewan. It is approximately 15 kilometres southwest of the Cluff Lake Mine, and 20 km northwest of the Shea Creek Deposit. Highway 955 provides access to the Cluff Lake site.

Dr. Michael Gunning, Ph.D., P.Geo., Vice President Exploration of Triex Minerals, is a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible for program design and quality control of exploration undertaken by Triex Minerals Corporation.
