Triex Updates Saskatchewan Projects

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 25, 2005) -

Triex Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:TSX) ("Triex") is pleased to provide updates on its West Carswell, Mann Lake and Wollaston NE properties, all located in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. (See for further details).

West Carswell Property, Saskatchewan

Exploration is ongoing at the 100%-owned West Carswell Property. A 420 line-kilometre MEGATEM II survey has recently been completed over the property by Fugro Airborne Surveys. A significant EM conductor has been outlined and further defined by an orthogonal MEGATEM II survey. Follow-up ground geophysics, to include approximately 55 line-kilometres of UTEM, will be carried out in November 2005. A 4,000 metre diamond drill program is currently in the planning stages to test this conductor, with permitting and contracting underway. To date, approximately $113,000 has been expended on the property, and a budget of $1 million is proposed for the upcoming geophysical and drilling program.

The West Carswell Property is located approximately 15 kilometres southwest of the Cluff Lake Mine, and 20 km northwest of the Shea Creek Deposit, in the southwestern part of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. This property comprises 20,156 acres in 2 claim blocks. The West Carswell Property is 100% owned by Triex.

Mann Lake Property, Saskatchewan

Exploration is set to commence on the Mann Lake property located in the eastern Athabasca Basin, approximately 15 kilometres to the northeast of Cameco Corporation's recently discovered Millennium uranium deposit. Triex has the option to earn up to 70% in the property from Consolidated Abaddon Resources (See September 26, 2005 news release). Previous exploration on the Mann Lake Property includes a time-domain electromagnetic (TEM) moving loop EM survey and a ground-based gravity survey with four conductors being outlined. A ground geophysical program of gravity and TEM surveys, at an estimated cost of $200,000, will be carried out in November 2005 to better define drill targets. A 5,000 metre follow-up drill program is proposed for 2006.

The Mann Lake Property is located in the eastern Athabasca Basin, approximately 25 km southwest of the McArthur River Mine, the largest high-grade uranium deposit in the world. This property comprises 3,473 hectares in1 claim block. Triex is the Operator on this project.

Wollaston NE Permits, Saskatchewan

A $280,000 budget and exploration program has recently been approved by the joint venture partners (Triex 51%, Roughrider Uranium Corp. 49%) for the Wollaston NE permits. A detailed, helicopter-borne DIGHEM V geophysical survey will be carried out next month. Four grid areas will be flown, based on the location of known mineral occurrences, geochemical anomalies and previously defined conductors, as well as the location of major structural zones on recent airborne magnetic maps. Follow-up ground geophysics, prospecting, mapping and geochemistry is planned for early 2006.

The Wollaston NE Property is located immediately to the northeast of the Athabasca Basin. The Wollaston belt hosts a number of major uranium discoveries (eg. Eagle Point and Rabbit Lake deposits). This property comprises 455,848 acres over 6 prospecting permits. Triex is the Operator on this project.

Dr. Michael Gunning, Ph.D., P.Geo., Vice President Exploration of Triex Minerals, is a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible for program design and quality control of exploration undertaken by Triex Minerals Corporation.
