Trifacta Appoints Adam Wilson as Chief Executive Officer

Former CEO and Co-Founder, Joe Hellerstein, Transitions to New Role as Chief Strategy Officer

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - July 23, 2014) - Trifacta, a Data Transformation platform provider, today announced that Adam Wilson has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Wilson brings more than 18 years of experience in data management and analytics to Trifacta. As CEO, Wilson will lead Trifacta into the company's next stage of business growth. Previous CEO and co-founder, Joe Hellerstein, will remain an integral part of the executive team in his new role as Chief Strategy Officer. Wilson will join Hellerstein on Trifacta's Board of Directors. Both will take up their new roles effective immediately.

"Adam has a breadth of experience that complements our founding team perfectly. He brings an important blend of entrepreneurial skills, business acumen, and deep domain expertise," said Hellerstein. "From the beginning, my intent has been to build a company that would have lasting impact-providing radically simpler and more satisfying methods for people and organizations to work with data. We have established an unparalleled engineering and design organization for our product, and now we're delighted to bring Adam on board to scale the business. I look forward to transitioning into the role of Chief Strategy Officer, continuing to push Trifacta's product direction and bring new data and interaction technologies to market."

In Hellerstein's new role, he will focus on Trifacta's strategic roadmap, ensuring that Trifacta continues to deliver leading data transformation solutions that increase the value that users and organizations get from Hadoop and other big data platforms. He will also focus on the product's role in the big data ecosystem. The appointments of Hellerstein and Wilson round out an executive team with deep experience in data management and human-computer interaction, including Jeff Heer as Chief Experience Officer and Sean Kandel as Chief Technology Officer.

Wilson has spent his entire career focused on helping customers integrate and analyze data so they can more effectively compete on information. This experience makes him acutely aware of the opportunity to address the challenges that organizations face today in big data. Rather than focusing on actionable insight, expensive and scarce data professionals end up spending the majority of their time preparing their data for analysis.

"I'm joining Trifacta at an incredibly exciting time in the evolution of the big data market. During my career, I've been directly involved in some of the largest big data projects in the world and have seen how customers struggle to make sense of the data. This is exactly the problem that Trifacta has been laser focused on solving. Trifacta has been built from the ground up to re-imagine how analysts and data scientists manipulate data in an environment of unprecedented volume, variety and velocity for big data," said Adam Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, Trifacta. "I'm excited to join an innovative team that is transforming how companies work with big data."

Over the past 18 years, Adam has developed a strong blend of enterprise software and entrepreneurial experience. Early in his career, Adam was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Zimba, a pioneer in mobile business intelligence. The company was sold to Informatica in August of 2000. Upon joining Informatica, Adam spearheaded the company's entrance into the broader business intelligence market. As Vice President of Products, he built the initial offerings and grew the business from zero to more than $10M in revenue. Later, as Senior Vice President of Product Management & Marketing for Informatica's market leading data integration products, Adam was instrumental in helping the company expand beyond ETL and data warehousing. During his tenure, data integration product revenues increased to more than $200M. Before leaving Informatica, Adam served as SVP & General Manager of the Application Information Lifecycle Management business unit where he grew revenues over 4x in five years and established Informatica as a leader in data masking, test data management and database archiving. Most recently, Wilson served as CMO and SVP of Products at Euclid Analytics where he was responsible for both product as well as go-to-market strategy.

Wilson received his Bachelors of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern University and his Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management.
