Trifacta Presents on Data Visualizations for Discovery

Jeffrey Heer, CXO and Co-Founder, to Speak at the 2015 Data Science Summit & Dato Conference

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 17, 2015) -  Trifacta, the leading data wrangling solution for exploratory analytics, today announced that Jeffrey Heer, CXO and co-founder of Trifacta, will be speaking at the Data Science Summit & Dato Conference. Heer will present on designing tools for comprehensive and efficient data exploration.

"Data visualizations are regularly used to convey metrics or tell 'data-driven stories,' but they can also be powerful tools for data discovery and exploratory analysis," said Jeffrey Heer, CXO and co-founder, Trifacta. "Most visualization tools require manual specification of views -- a tedious process that prevents broad consideration of data, particularly in the early stages of analysis. One focus of my research and work at Trifacta is designing systems to enable a wide variety of users in an organization to easily explore diverse data by augmenting exploration tools with data transformation and visualization design guidance."

Heer will discuss Trifacta's approach to developing mixed-initiative systems for steerable, interactive browsing of recommended visualizations, chosen according to statistical and perceptual measures.

Session Title: Machine Learning Innovations; Visualization for Discovery
Date: July 20, 2015
Time: 10:50 am - 12:30pm PT
Location: San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Salon 8
Speakers: Jeffrey Heer, CXO and co-founder, Trifacta
