Trinity Pension's Brian Smith Receives Official QKA Designation

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - Sep 10, 2014) - Brian Smith, the Columbus Retirement Plan Consultant at Trinity Pension Consultants, has recently earned his Qualified 401(k) Administrator credential. The QKA is usually earned by retirement plan consultants who specialize in retirement plan administration and design, specifically 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plans.

Trinity Pension Consultants specializes in qualified retirement plan administration, said Smith, so the QKA credential will allow him to better assist Trinity's clients with more detailed knowledge of administration of 401(k) plans.

"I wanted to continue to expand my technical knowledge in the 401(k) arena," said Smith. "But, it's also part of Trinity's expectations; all employees are required to be credentialed. It sets Trinity apart from a lot of our peers, and clients can rely on Trinity for that expertise."

The process to get a QKA credential can take up to two years, but Smith completed his in less than one. To earn the designation, applicants must submit two letters of recommendation and then pass a series of four exams.

Smith said that while the QKA credential is useful, he is in the process of pursuing his Qualified Pension Administrator designation and plans to earn his Certified Personnel Consultant designation in the future.

Anthony Warren, principal at Trinity Pension Consultants, said that the credential will distinguish Smith as a knowledgeable consultant.

"The QKA credential shows that a retirement plan consultant is truly a source of reliable and accurate advice," Warren said.
