Tripwire Celebrates 10 Years of Innovation

Configuration Audit and Control Leader Highlights Milestones and Continues Evolution

PORTLAND, OR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 7, 2007 -- A decade ago, Tripwire first gave IT departments the ability to detect and control change within the enterprise. Today, with more than 5,500 customers, Tripwire is the recognized leader in configuration audit and control solutions and continues to help companies improve operational efficiency and reduce risk by delivering innovative solutions for detecting, analyzing and controlling change across the IT infrastructure.

"We founded Tripwire because we saw that the inability to detect and manage change was leaving companies vulnerable," said Gene Kim, Tripwire co-founder and CTO. "Over the years, we've learned that controlling change is really the foundation for much more than just security -- it is the key to operational excellence. Now, we are focused on helping companies control configuration changes across the most complex infrastructures to reduce unplanned work, succeed at key initiatives and perform at the highest levels possible."

The company's first offering pioneered change detection to enable customers to detect when a rogue change might indicate a security event. Over the years, Tripwire expanded these capabilities, adding innovations around change detection and auditing to help IT organizations establish and enforce change policies on desktops and servers. In January 2005, Tripwire introduced Tripwire Enterprise to take its change detection and auditing capabilities beyond the server level, enabling customers to track, manage and report changes across the entire IT infrastructure.

Configuration Audit and Control: The Foundation for Improved IT Operations

Tripwire recently announced the latest edition of Tripwire Enterprise, the first real-time enterprise configuration control solution that ensures organizations are continuously detecting and monitoring configuration change across the infrastructure. Tripwire provides the only single source solution for detecting all change across servers, network devices, databases, and directory services. By giving customers real-time visibility, Tripwire enables operational efficiency through reduced outages, faster recovery times and less unplanned work. This capability is essential to achieving success at many of the most critical IT operations initiatives customers are tackling today, including compliance and security, availability, change and configuration automation and Configuration Management Databases (CMDB).
