Tripwire Makes It Three in a Row on Oregon Business' List of '100 Best Companies to Work For'

Leader in Configuration Assessment & Change Auditing Solutions Enjoys a Year of Rapid Revenue Growth and High Rate of Employee Satisfaction

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - February 27, 2009) - Tripwire, Inc., the leading provider in configuration control solutions, announced this week that it was named for the third year running one of the '100 Best Companies to Work For' in Oregon, in Oregon Business magazine's annual analysis of the top companies in the state. This comes directly after the company announced it ended 2008 with record revenue, bookings and growth.

This recognition caps a remarkable year for Tripwire. The company wrapped up 2008 with more than 6,550 customers and $62 million in revenue, representing an increase of 27 percent year over year. This astounding growth in the face of a tough economic climate is testament to Tripwire's strategy to ensure its leadership position through new and innovative thinking -- from the technology it brings to market to how it develops its deep customer relationships. To accommodate expansion, Tripwire recently relocated its downtown Portland offices to the One Main Place building. The company currently employs 242 people worldwide, with 166 in its Portland headquarters, ending 2008 with 19 percent employee growth over 2007.

"I'm honored to know that our employees continue to feel as great as I do about being a part of this exciting company," said Tripwire President & CEO Jim Johnson. "In today's business climate, creating an environment that finds and retains a corps of satisfied employees is a key ingredient to continued success."

Oregon Business has conducted the annual study of best practices for the last 16 years. The survey has two parts -- a satisfaction survey completed by employees and a benefits survey submitted by company management. Rankings are derived from scores of both parts of the survey, with the employee survey counting for 5/6 of the total score, and the benefit survey counting for the remaining 1/6 of the total score. The 100 Best list recognizes 50 large companies, defined as those with 250 or more employees, and 50 small companies, defined as those with less than 250 employees, for excellence in the following areas: benefits and compensation; work environment; decision-making and trust; performance management; and career development and learning.
