True North Gems Obtains Approval for New Greenland Ruby Exploration License

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 13, 2007) - True North Gems (TSX VENTURE:TGX) is pleased to announce that the Bureau of Mines and Petroleum (BMP) and the Joint Committee on Mineral Resources for Greenland and Denmark has approved its application for acquisition of the 713 km2 Qaqqatsiaq exploration license contiguous with and adjacent to the Company's 110 km2 Fiskenaesset ruby property, located on the southwest coast of Greenland (see press release of June 20, 2007). True North Gems increases its total land position to 823 km2 with the formal ratification of the Qaqqatsiaq license application, valid for a period of five years from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2012.

The license application consists of five separate property blocks (designated sub-areas) strategically located to cover several known ruby occurrences, and prospective geology for bedrock and alluvial ruby mineralization in the Fiskenaesset District.

Preliminary exploration within the Qaqqatsiaq license was initiated under True North Gems' prospecting license in 2006 and 2007 with the documentation of several of the previously reported ruby occurrences. A more systematic regional exploration program, including geological mapping, geochemistry and prospecting is in the planning stages for 2008.

The planning and execution of the ruby exploration and quality control programs at the Qaqqatsiaq and Fiskenaesset Ruby Projects are under the supervision of Greg Davison, True North Gems' VP Exploration. Mr. Davison is a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
