TrueCar Hires Edmunds Chief Evangelist

Jesse Toprak Signs on With New Authority in Car Pricing

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwire - August 18, 2009) - TrueCar, Inc. (www.truecar.com), which publishes how much people paid for their new vehicle and is the authority in new car pricing, announced today that Jesse Toprak has been hired as Vice President of Industry (Trends & Insights). Toprak, who most recently served as Executive Director of Industry Analysis at Edmunds, will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on all relevant automotive related topics, trends and insights for the industry and the media, as well as for consumers.

Toprak has more than 15 year's experience in the automotive industry, including nearly nine years with Edmunds. Toprak is one of the most frequently quoted automotive analysts of this decade having completed over 3000 interviews. At Edmunds, Toprak was amongst the creators of the site's well known consumer oriented pricing products and also built an industry analysis group from the ground up over the last several years. Prior to his role at Edmunds, Toprak held management positions at several automotive franchises for over 6 years.
