TrueCar.com Licenses Pricing Data to U.S. News Rankings and Reviews

Industry-Leading Review Website Adds Most Accurate Pricing Data to Enhance Visitor Experience

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2009) - TrueCar, the fresh voice in new car pricing, announced that its unique data and Price Reports are now accessible to consumers on the U.S. News Autos website (http://www.usnews.com/cars). An "Average Price Paid" will be listed next to each car a visitor views, alongside a link to an in-depth Price Report that shows the full distribution of prices paid by other people for the car, as well as the actual dealer cost structure.

"Our job is to help consumers find the right car for them and, importantly, help them get a fair price. We are excited to add TrueCar information to our website so that we can bring better price transparency to our visitors," says Chad Smolinski, VP of U.S. News Rankings and Reviews. "TrueCar provides a wealth of information about what other people have actually paid for a new vehicle. It helps close the knowledge gap between consumers and dealers, and in the long run should be good for both."

Virtually everybody who buys a car today visits the web. According to a CapGemini Cars Online study (2008), researching price is the number one online activity for car buyers.

"Working with U.S. News highlights our ability to syndicate data and add immense value to automotive web sites," says Scott Painter, Chief Executive Officer, TrueCar. "Nowhere else can you get this level of automotive retail data and overall transparency."

TrueCar Data

TrueCar differentiates itself through transparency and factual data. The company processes thousands of real transactions each day from a variety of different sources nationwide to generate its Price Reports. These sources range from financial institutions to vehicle registration organizations that collect and store new car transactional data. Today, TrueCar boasts data on more than 30% of all new vehicles sold. Extensive data analysis allows TrueCar to offer various additional information to consumers such as Good and Great Prices, as well as historical prices. More than ever before, consumers can gain the peace of mind that they are paying the same price as their neighbors for their new car.

API and Widgets

TrueCar also announced the general availability of their API and HTML widgets to be used by third parties. API and Widget technology are widely used across the Internet and allow for rapid deployment on 3rd party web sites and platforms, further facilitating the distribution of TrueCar.
