Trust Company of America Introduces Fractional Share Technology to Account Management Platform

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - September 07, 2016) -

  • Trust Company of America's fractional share technology allows advisors and their clients to own pieces of ETF or stock shares within a portfolio while gaining the broad diversification of owning whole shares;
  • Fractional shares are now available to all TCA advisors through both the Liberty and the TCAdvisor platforms.

Trust Company of America (TCA), the largest, non-conflicted provider of integrated technology, custody and practice management support for Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), will now offer fractional share technology to advisors who use its robust account management technology platform.

TCA's fractional share technology allows advisors and their clients to own pieces of ETF or stock shares within a portfolio while gaining the broad diversification of owning whole shares -- eliminating the barriers often caused by highly priced investments and high exposure to risk should those stocks or ETFs drop in value.

"An advisor who is working in the best interest of their clients understands that each investor's set of financial goals is unique -- and must be treated as such," said Joshua Pace, President and CEO of TCA. "Investing in a piece of individual stock provides the highest level of flexibility and customization possible, enabling advisors to strategically diversify client portfolios without the high cost typically associated with owning whole shares. This capability will be a huge competitive advantage for our RIA partners and we're very excited to be offering this new feature on our platform."

For some clients, investing in whole shares can be a burdensome financial commitment -- often times costing hundreds of dollars per share. By utilizing fractional shares, even the smallest client accounts can own pieces of hundreds of ETFs or stocks and obtain the highest levels of diversification. "Our goal is to put our advisors in the business of saying 'yes,'" said James Capps, Chief Technology Officer of TCA. "Fractional share technology will equip advisors to work efficiently on more accounts, regardless of their size. This is an incredibly important differentiator for firms looking to grow."

TCA's platform is designed to help simplify account management and provide advisors with the flexibility they need to efficiently manage client portfolios. The technology enables users to easily trade accounts, implement proprietary investment models and strategies, and rebalance portfolios in just minutes.

TCA's fractional share technology is now available. If you are a TCA advisor looking for more information, please contact your Relationship Manager today or visit www.trustamerica.com.
