Trustnode Helps Increase Participation Rates in Voluntary Benefits at Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools

Interactive, Animated Education and Decision Support Enhances Employee Engagement in Benefits Selection Process for School District's Staff

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 2, 2013) - Trustnode today announced that Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools experienced increased participation in two voluntary benefits offerings using Trustnode's Education and Decision Support products. Trustnode's cloud-based service features interactive animation and decision support to help consumers make well-informed choices about their healthcare benefits and insurance needs.

Trustnode was introduced to Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) by Benefit Express to provide school district employees with Education and Decision Support for an existing long-term disability plan and a new short-term disability plan being offered during MNPS's 2013 open enrollment. Benefit Express is MNPS's benefits administration and online enrollment provider. MNPS is ranked among the top 50 largest school districts in the U.S. with 6,100 employees across 153 schools.

The Trustnode service supports MNPS's voluntary plan benefits and was integrated with Benefit Express's online enrollment system to provide school district employees with a seamless enrollment process. The combined Trustnode and Benefit Express solution nearly doubled participation in the long-term disability plan -- resulting in 49% plan participation -- and achieved 35% participation in the new short-term disability plan; premium volume increased by approximately 150%.

"From the first demo, we were sold on Trustnode's ability to add value for our carrier partners and employer clients," stated Monica Hinchey, Benefit Express VP, Client Relations, Marketing and Business Alliance Manager. "In addition to the engaging user interface, we were especially impressed with Trustnode's ease of integration and configurability. Trustnode is simple and easy to implement and reduces HR benefits communication time and costs. Employees love Harvey, Trustnode's interactive, animated guide and are more engaged in the benefit selection process and confident about their choices as a result. More importantly, as the Metro Nashville deployment demonstrates, Trustnode delivers high enrollment rates for the benefit plans it supports. Our partners and clients are delighted with the results, and so are we," Ms. Hinchey concluded.

"Trustnode continues to demonstrate its ability to increase participation in benefit plans for companies of all sizes and types," stated Kevin Dunn, Trustnode SVP of Strategy and Business Development. "Clients see the best results when Trustnode's service is integrated with an employer's existing enrollment environment as it was with the Benefit Express system at Metro Nashville. We anticipate even more of these integrated deployments because they further enhance user experience -- seamless, connected decision support and enrollment processes -- and promote higher levels of participation," Mr. Dunn concluded.
