TTC Media Advisory: Buses to Replace Streetcars on St. Clair This Weekend

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 22, 2007) - Due to ongoing construction work in St. Clair West Station, buses will replace streetcars this Saturday and Sunday, November 24th and 25th along the entire 512 St. Clair route.

During this period, buses will provide curb-side service on St. Clair Avenue between Yonge Street and Keele Street. Buses will not enter St. Clair West Station. TTC stops at St. Clair West Station are located adjacent to the entrances, on the north and south sides of St. Clair Avenue.

Customers are required to transfer at these transit stops to access the subway, or the reverse when transferring from the subway to the buses to travel eastbound or westbound on St. Clair Avenue by transit. Customers using TTC tickets, tokens or cash fare will require a TTC paper transfer to transfer between streetcars, buses and the subway.

On Monday, November 26th, streetcar service will resume on St. Clair Avenue West between Yonge Street and Oakwood Avenue. Buses will continue to operate on St. Clair between Keele Street and Spadina Road.

Customers on the 512 route can take advantage of the TTC's St. Clair Time Based Transfer, which allows the customer to travel for up to two hours on the St. Clair route. Get on and off at various stops along St. Clair. The Time Based Transfer is available from any bus driver on the St. Clair route.
