TTC-Modern, Fully-Accessible Streetcars for Toronto: Catch a Sneak Preview

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 13, 2007) - New technology, environmentally-friendly, fully-accessible, sleek, and modern. The TTC invites the media to hear about its plan to buy new light rail vehicles for Toronto, to launch an extensive public conversation about what people want to see in Toronto's new light rail vehicles, and to see what the light rail vehicle of tomorrow could look like.

The TTC currently operates eleven streetcar routes, stretching over 86 kilometres in length. The Transit City Light Rail Plan will add seven more routes, with over 120 kilometres, bringing light rail transit to every corner of Toronto. The new light rail vehicles to be purchased will be the foundation for the renewal and the major expansion of Toronto's light rail transit network.
