TTC Raises $1,180,000 for United Way

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 19, 2006) - Toronto Transit Commission employees and pensioners have once again proved that the TTC also stands for Transit That Cares.

A cheque for $1,180,000 was presented today to United Way of Greater Toronto Director of Corporate and Community Engagement Quinn Bingham, by TTC Interim Chief General Manager Gary Webster, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 Board Member Paul Callaghan, IAMAW Lodge 235 Chair Scott Johnson and CUPE Local 2 President Mike Santos.

The TTC employees and pensioners have raised more than $6 million for the United Way of Greater Toronto over the past six years.
