TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 30, 2007) - In honour of TTC employee Antonio "Tony" Almeida, who lost his life in a tragic workplace accident on Monday, and in support of his family, all TTC vehicles - streetcars, buses, subway trains and the SRT - will observe a one-minute "Stop and Stay" at 11 a.m. today following Mr. Almeida's funeral. The Funeral Mass will be held today at 9:30 a.m., at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1041 Bloor Street West, near Rusholme Road (Dufferin Station).

Subway and SRT trains will stop at stations, with their doors open. Buses and streetcars will stop at the nearest stops as safety permits.

During Tony Almeida's five years at the TTC, he was clearly and exemplary employee by the many testaments of his peers and co-workers. Tony will be sadly missed by everyone who was associated with him at the TTC.

The TTC Guard of Honour will attend the funeral.
