Tuality Healthcare Selects Network Chemistry to Secure Network Infrastructure and Applications

RFprotect Suite Delivers Comprehensive Security to Improve Productivity and Protect Patient Information

PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 27, 2007 -- Network Chemistry announced today that Tuality Healthcare has deployed Network Chemistry's RFprotect™ suite of integrated security solutions to secure their corporate networks, wireless infrastructure and new productivity applications. The company is implementing the solution, which includes RFprotect Scanner, RFprotect Mobile and RFprotect Distributed at its largest hospital with plans to expand throughout the main campus.

Tuality Healthcare is a hospital-based, not-for-profit healthcare system that has been serving the suburban area west of Portland, Oregon for almost 90 years. With more than 1200 employees, the organization runs two acute-care hospitals as well as a complete array of outpatient, specialty, health education and other services.

Tuality was seeking a solution for rogue-device protection that could be easily deployed and cover its entire network in order to prevent the exposure of confidential data and critical assets. Rogue devices can include everything from unauthorized access points and unmanaged servers to other devices acting as access points known as rogue peers. The most common rogue peers are laptops with wired and wireless interfaces and bridging enabled. To address this need, the organization is using Network Chemistry's RFprotect Scanner, a wired-side vulnerability management appliance that classifies all network infrastructure, finds rogues and removes them from the network. This solution provides Tuality with a security solution that can be used to enforce internal networking policies and prevent data loss or theft.

To further build on the organization's advanced use of technology, Tuality also required a secure wireless infrastructure to deploy a new clinical information system. This system will feature point-of-care and other applications that both improve productivity for employees and patient care. To meet these needs, the company is deploying RFprotect Distributed and RFprotect Mobile to ensure the highest level of protection against wireless attacks and misuse in their facilities. The combination of wired and wireless security provides the highest level of protection of patient information, which is critical for HIPAA compliance. The entire suite of solutions is being delivered through Network Chemistry partner Structured Communication Systems.

"We are implementing a company-wide clinical information system for our facilities, and a secure network and wireless infrastructure is a critical requirement," said Chris Herrin, network services manager at Tuality Healthcare. "We recognized that we needed a comprehensive security solution with a rich set of features before rolling out our applications. Based on that, we selected Network Chemistry and the RFprotect suite of solutions to secure our wireless and network infrastructure, remove all unauthorized devices and enforce safe networking policies to meet compliance regulations."

Network Chemistry's patent-pending technology and RFprotect family of products provide a complete solution that seamlessly integrates with enterprise network, WLAN and security systems. RFprotect Mobile is a portable, laptop-based analyzer for automating site surveys, security assessments and incident response. RFprotect Scanner is a network-based vulnerability management solution focused on rogue wireless device detection and automated remediation and is the ideal solution for organizations that need to cost effectively enforce 'no wireless' policies. RFprotect Distributed is a 24/7 wireless-monitoring and intrusion-prevention system for protecting against wireless threats in and around enterprise facilities. RFprotect Endpoint protects mobile devices on the road by actively enforcing policy to thwart threats and prohibit risky wireless configurations.

"With the deployment of the RFprotect solution, Tuality can securely deploy an array of applications to improve productivity while ensuring the protection of patient information across their networks," said T. Paul Thomas, CEO at Network Chemistry. "Whether organizations are implementing wireless applications or trying to keep rogue devices off their entire network, they can benefit from a comprehensive approach to securing their infrastructure and environment. We enable our customers to meet this need by providing the most secure, easy-to-use and cost-effective network security solutions available."
