Tubes Hub Brings Simple Multimedia Publishing and Content to the Masses

Using Tubes, Anyone Can Instantly Create, Share and Subscribe to Rich Media Web Sites

SAN DIEGO, CA and BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 24, 2007) - At the DEMO Conference today, Tubes Networks announced The Hub, a free service for Tubes that allows users and professionals to publish and subscribe to rich media content online instantly. The Hub hosts both professional and user-generated content, making it easy for web-based access and direct-to-desktop subscriptions. Unlike content-aggregating Web sites, the Hub lets people visit Tubes online, or elect to join Tubes and be able to take the entire content set -- including images, audio and video -- offline. To reach the Hub, click the "Hub" tab at

"The Tubes Hub represents the next evolution of media publishing and delivery," said John Van Siclen, Chief Executive Officer. "With Tubes and the Hub, anyone is one click from subscribing to and viewing Web sites offline. And with another click anyone can become a publisher of their own rich media Web sites. There has never been anything like Tubes."

Viewing Public tubes on the Hub

Visitors to the Hub -- even those without the Tubes software installed on their computers -- can easily browse and view public content tubes by simply clicking on a tube URL in the Hub. Users with the Tubes desktop software installed can also view, edit and contribute to their tubes offline and stay in sync with updated subscriptions.

Subscribing to a tube

In addition to viewing content on the web, Tubes users can easily subscribe to tubes they like by dragging the desired tube icon off the webpage and onto their Tubes client. Once this web-to-desktop connection is instantly established, any new content is published to every member of the subscribed tube, automatically downloading updated content onto the Tubes user's desktop for easy access, even offline.

Publishing your tubes to the Hub

Using the latest version of Tubes, members can also publish their own content to the Hub by dragging and dropping content into a tube and then publishing that tube to the Hub with a few simple clicks.

Tubes Hub Publishers

The Hub is already home to a large number of tubes, from professional content developers to individual hobbyists alike. A few examples:

Diggnation: Digg founders Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht each have their own tubes as well.

ScobleShow: Leading technology blogger and vlogger Robert Scoble's latest dispatches.

Rocketboom: The latest episodes of Rocketboom, one of the Web's most popular video blogs.

NASA: Videos and other information from the National Aeronautics Space Administration.

The Scarecrow Collection: An example of how bands add multimedia content easily and create a base for interaction with their fans.

Tubes' easy-to-use web-to-desktop subscription model and desktop-to-web publishing mode creates synchronized networks available online or off, making it a perfect solution for common problems like:

-- Sharing large or frequently changing files with friends and colleagues
-- Staying in sync with different groups
-- Viewing your favorite online content, even when you're offline
-- Syncing all your music from all your computers to your iPod
