Unions make a difference in people's lives Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, News Editor, World News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor MONTRÉAL--(CCNMatthews - June 10, 2005) - The 24th Convention of the Canadian Labour Congress continues Tuesday at the Palais des congrès in Montreal. Over 2500 delegates from unions, federations of labour and labour councils from every part of Canada gather for another day with numerous observers and guests from the labour movement around the world.

Highlights from today's proceedings include:

The Canadian Labour Congress, the national voice of the labour movement, represents 3 million Canadian workers. The Convention, which meets every three years, is the supreme governing body of the Canadian Labour Congress, which was founded at its first convention in 1956.
