Tulip BioMed, Inc. Announces Introduction of New Product: The Disposable Syringe Lock

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 13, 2007) - Tulip BioMed™, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: TPBD), a developer of medical devices and patented technologies for the living tissues market, including plastic, cosmetic, and orthopedic surgeries (the "Company"), today announced the introduction of its newest product in its disposable line of products, the disposable Johnnie Lok™ syringe lock.

The Johnnie Lok is a "C" shaped device that attaches to the collar of a 10/12cc or 20cc syringe barrel. These syringes are used for the removal of adipose (fat) from a patient. Typically, a physician will pre-determine the volume of adipose to be removed. Once this is determined, an adipose-harvesting cannula is inserted into a patient's body, and to create a vacuum to help in the removal of the fat and to reduce the need for the physician to hold the syringe plunger in place, the plunger is then pulled back to the pre-determined volume position, the fins of the syringe plunger are rotated, and the Johnnie Lok locks the plunger in place. This easy-to-use device significantly reduces the effort that a physician would otherwise be required to utilize in manually holding the plunger in place during the fat harvesting procedure. Currently, a reusable version of the Johnnie Lok is sold. However, because the syringe is disposed following these procedures, it is often the case that the reusable Johnnie Lok is accidentally thrown away. This was a key driver in the Company's decision to invest the time and expense in the development of a sturdy, sterilized, one-time use, cost-effective disposable version of the Johnnie Lok.

Tulip BioMed's disposable Johnnie Loks are sold in quantities of 5 for $30.00, 10 for $55.00, and 20 for $99.00. Each device is individually packaged and is sterilized. Orders for the disposable Johnnie Lok placed before September 21 will receive a 10% discount, with shipment expected to begin during the week of September 24, 2007.

Dori K. Gavitt, Director, Marketing and Sales, noted that, "Our customers have been waiting for a disposable Johnnie Lok device since our disposable line of products was first introduced. We are pleased that we have been able to accommodate this request and are excited that we are offering a safe, cost-effective and reliable device that can be disposed-of after one use."
