TuneUp Gives PCs a Performance Boost With New Software Version

TuneUp Utilities™ Available for Windows 7, XP and Vista Users in Late October

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - September 27, 2010) -  TuneUp Corporation today announced that the latest version of its award-winning series of PC optimization software, TuneUp Utilities, will be available at the end of October. The intelligent software developer is enabling Windows 7, XP and Vista users to get their PCs into top shape with a number of new tuning features, including TuneUp Program Deactivator™, and enhancements of its trusted optimization tools.

Key Facts

  • New to this version of TuneUp Utilities is TuneUp Program Deactivator, which allows users to completely turn off programs and drastically reduce the load on their PCs. With TuneUp Programs-on-Demand Technology™, users can ensure that all services, start-up entries, background processes and scheduled tasks of disabled programs remain inactive until needed again. By doing so, they avoid a loss in performance, which is a danger after many programs have been installed.
  • The enhanced Turbo Mode enables users to increase the performance of their PCs while working with resource-heavy applications and games. With a single click, users can shut down more than 70 background processes that slow down Windows 7, XP and Vista.
  • Users can now instantly know how well they have optimized their PCs. Tuning Status shows how many optimizations TuneUp Utilities has performed and where the potential for tuning remains.
  • TuneUp Utilities also includes a rating feature to help users make the best tuning decisions. It informs users of the relevance of installed programs, so they know what programs to turn off, what start-up entries to deactivate and what third-party software to uninstall. All TuneUp Utilities users are able to rate and support their peers, to help them get the most performance out of their Windows PCs.
  • TuneUp Utilities will be available for download directly from TuneUp's website or through TuneUp Corporation's affiliate partners for $49.95. Consumers can buy the software in retail stores, including Micro Center, Fry's and OfficeMax, and e-tailers, such as Amazon.com and Newegg.com, for $39.95. Users of previous software versions can upgrade to the latest one for $29.95.
