TuneUp Utilities 2008 Version Update Now Available

Update Improves Efficiency, Reliability and Speed of Award-Winning PC Utility

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2008) - TuneUp, makers of the award-winning TuneUp products since 1997, announced today that a free update for the English version of the company's PC utilities software suite, TuneUp Utilities 2008, is now available. The update improves the 1 Click Maintenance function, speeds up individual tools from the suite and makes cleaning and optimizing Windows™ more comprehensive.

The free update is available for all TuneUp Utilities 2008 users. The update is specifically aimed at improving the 1 Click Maintenance tool, which automatically runs a precompiled toolset to remove problems from the registry, free up disk space and improve hard disk performance. With the update, if a computer is not switched on at the specific scheduled maintenance interval as defined by the user, Utilities 2008 will automatically perform the pre-configured maintenance tasks as soon as possible after the computer is turned on again.

More space and speed

The update also improves the functions for freeing up disk space and increasing speed and performance of the machine in three ways. First, it allows users to disable the TuneUp Rescue Center monitor during maintenance procedures, which saves disk space. Second, additional temporary folders are taken into account when running the Free Up Disk Space tool, making it a more thorough process. Third, the TuneUp Drive Defrag and Free Up Disk Space tools now run more quickly and efficiently.

Regular updates

The TuneUp Update Wizard that is integrated into the main program ensures that customers easily get regular product updates. With the new update, TuneUp Utilities 2008 is now faster, more reliable and more efficient.
