Tungle Brings Easy Scheduling to the over 7.5 Million Members of the XING Business Network

Tungle.me, a first in click-to-meet technology, gives social networks the ability to provide easy scheduling directly from a user's profile

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 22, 2009) - Tungle, the calendar accelerator, today announced that Tungle.me is now available to the over 7.5 million members of XING via the new XING Partner Ecosystem. Tungle.me, a first in click-to-meet technology, is the simplest way for professionals to make meetings happen. Tungle.me enhances a user's profile by allowing XING members to view their availability and quickly schedule a meeting by proposing multiple times without having to leave the social network.

"The objective of the XING OpenSocial initiative is to provide our members with added value applications within the network to tailor their experience," says Jason Goldberg, chief product officer of XING AG. "Tungle.me is a prime example of this. It allows XING members to connect their calendar to their profiles, giving them simple scheduling capabilities that they didn't have before."

Tungle is the only service that syncs with Outlook (with or without Exchange), Google Calendar, Apple iCal and Entourage for Mac. IBM recently partnered with Tungle to accelerate Lotus Notes.

"The current employment market has created a pressing need for people to leverage the benefits and utility provided by online social networking," says Nigel Wallis, research director, application software & services for IDC Canada. "Individuals need a calendaring solution that easily connects and arranges meetings, phone calls or lunches throughout their social network, equipping users for networking success. Tungle can connect users across multiple calendaring technologies, resolving the long-standing problem of interoperability."

Tungle.me for XING is an extension of Tungle. Tungle extends the life of existing e-calendar and groupware solutions. It allows people to share calendars across companies and platforms, easily schedule meetings with individuals or groups inside or outside their company, propose multiple meeting times in invitations and much more. It intelligently and automatically adjusts for time zones and prevents double-bookings. The result is hours saved in getting meetings booked.

"Tungle takes existing calendars, which today simply track your schedule, and transforms them into dynamic tools that make professionals like the 7.5 million XING members more productive and connected," says Marc Gingras, founder and chief executive officer of Tungle. "Tungle's OpenSocial initiative is an important step in helping social networks tighten the linkages between the millions of connections made on their platforms every day."
