Turbo Genset Inc. Announces Toronto Transit Commission Contract

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 22, 2006) - Turbo Genset Inc. (TSX:TGN) (LSE:TGN) ("Turbo Genset"), is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation of an order from the Toronto Transit Commission for the initial production batch of 100 Low Voltage Power Supply and Inverter Units ("LVPS" units) for their Canadian Light Rail Vehicle (CLRV) streetcars operating in Toronto, Ontario, as part of a life extension and upgrade programme.

In September 2004 Turbo Genset was selected to provide two prototype units and was awarded a conditional production contract subject to satisfactory performance of the prototypes during in-service testing and confirmation that TTC had received the expected financing approval from City of Toronto Council.

Both prototypes have been delivered to the customer and TTC has now released the unconditional order for the initial 100 systems scheduled between 2007 and 2012. The value of the initial production batch is Pounds Sterling 1.75 million.

Commenting on this contract, Michael Hunt, Chief Executive Officer said "The Toronto Transit Commission is a very important customer for Turbo Genset with ongoing programmes for both subway cars and streetcars and we are very pleased that production volumes of CLRVs will now be proceeding."
