Turbo Genset Wins New Train Air Conditioning Contract

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 7, 2005) - Turbo Genset Inc. (TSX:TGN) (LSE:TGN), the innovative power generation and power conditioning equipment provider announced today that they have been selected by Trans Elektro B.V. to provide 6kVA Power Converters for installation as part of air conditioning systems to be supplied to Nedtrain, the Dutch rail operator. These converters take high voltage electricity from the track to provide a high quality AC supply to power Trans Elektro's air conditioning units. The contract value is of the order of Pounds Sterling 0.5 million, to be delivered in 2006.

This is Turbo Genset's second success in the train air conditioning market. In October 2003, the Company announced a Pounds Sterling 1.9 million order to provide 150 6kVA Power Converters for installation on the London Underground D class rolling stock, specifically for District Line driver cabs.

Commenting on this order, Michael Hunt, Chief Executive Officer, said:

"The requirement for air conditioning in Europe's trains is increasingly becoming a necessity, one which we are well placed to service". "This is our first order for mainland Europe in this market underlining the increasingly global nature of our business."

Trans Elektro B.V. was established in the Netherlands in 1985 and is a manufacturer and importer of industrial air conditioning components and systems that are used for industrial markets including railways, cranebuilding, special machines, shipping and military.

Trans Elektro already has over 1,000 air conditioning systems operating in trains, metros and trams throughout Europe including the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Finland.

NedTrain is part of Nederlandse Spoorwegen, headquartered in Utrecht, with 38 overhauling, maintenance and service businesses active throughout the Netherlands.

NS transports a million passengers a day in the Netherlands in 5,000 trains on 2,800 km of railway track. In Great Britain, NS subsidiary NedRailways, together with its partner Serco, is responsible for transport around Liverpool (Merseyrail) and in the north of England (Northern Rail): a total of 270,000 passengers a day passing through 500 stations.
