TurboSonic Awarded US$1.25 Million Contract to Install Air Pollution Control Equipment for International Cement Producer

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 5, 2011) -TURBOSONIC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (OTCBB:TSTA), a global provider of clean air technologies, today announced that it has been awarded a US$1.25 million contract for the installation of equipment already on order from TurboSonic. The equipment will abate sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from a US cement plant. Completion is scheduled for May 2012.

The agreement includes installation, startup and commissioning services for TurboSonic's Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) system for NOx control and TurboSorb Spray Dry Absorption (SDA) technology for SO2 control.

Reduction of SO2 and NOx emissions is mandated under the US Environmental Protection Agency's National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants for the Portland Cement Manufacturing Industry, and applies to all new and existing Portland cement plants. This rule was enacted in November 2010 and coincides with a worldwide concern regarding the harmful health effects and negative environmental impact of these hazardous air pollutants.

Edward Spink, TurboSonic CEO, stated, "This contract is an addition to work currently in progress for this repeat customer, and demonstrates the confidence this customer has in our capability to provide turn-key solutions with single point responsibility. We continue to develop opportunities with multinational companies consistent with our goal of long term customer satisfaction and loyalty."
