Turkish Startup Yogurtistan Set to Revolutionize Online Commerce and Engagement Through Its 3D Virtual Marketplace

Private Beta Testing Begins as Brands Start Lining Up to Open Their Virtual Stores

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 18, 2012) - Yogurt Technologies, one of Turkey's oldest and most prevalent gaming agencies, announced the launch of its latest product, Yogurtistan, on the DEMO Spring 2012 stage. The company has created a new technology allowing users to interact and shop in a 3D virtual world integrated into Facebook. Users preserve their real identities by connecting their Facebook account to the application and are prompted to create an avatar upon seconds of entry.

The nature of Yogurtistan's platform calls for a whole new experience in online commerce -- users may customize their avatar to make their own persona, try on clothes at virtual stores or order products online to be delivered to their physical home. By utilizing game mechanics to keep the platform entertaining, the team vows to change the online shopping paradigm.

Cemil Turun, CEO of Yogurtistan, commented, "We are creating a new experience by mimicking real-life engagement by going from store to store without changing a tab, or entering the web site address of the store. This is one centralized system, I can run into a promotion, a friend, or simply begin to chat with a stranger in the street, all of which is accessible on any browser or even an iPad."

Currently, there is one plaza with several stores ranging from Migros, which is Turkey's largest supermarket chain, to Quiksilver, the global retailer giant. Cemil expresses his vision for the project, "Now, we want to expand our business into creating a customer loyalty system using game mechanics for brands so that they can engage with consumers, acquire feedback and compensate them with virtual currency for their efforts. Brands will be able to interact with their customer in a whole new paradigm, allowing for them to redeem valuable information as compensation for the users interaction with the brand." Matt Marshall, executive producer of DEMO, affirms, "By allowing brands to better mine the attitudes and behavior of their customers, brands will be able to apply promotions and marketing to specified demographics and attain behavioral analytics of consumers -- Yogurtistan has the potential to change the way we shop online."
