TurkTraktor Awarded International Energy Management and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Certifications

The JV Between CNH and Koc Holding Is Turkey's First Agricultural Equipment Manufacturer to Obtain Both ISO 50001 and ISO 14064 Quality Standard Recognitions

ISTANBUL, TURKEY--(Marketwire - Aug 30, 2012) -   TürkTraktör -- the joint venture between CNH (Fiat Industrial) and Koç Holding, and a leading manufacturer of agricultural equipment in Turkey since 1954 -- has again achieved a first in its sector by becoming the first company in the country to acquire both the ISO 50001 Energy Management and ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Emissions quality certifications.

The ISO 50001 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), represents the top international certification for energy management. It sets the voluntary quality principles and requirements for an organization to establish, implement, maintain and improve the way it manages energy. Its purpose is to enable an operation to follow a systematic approach in achieving a continuous improvement in its energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and consumption.

Reducing energy consumption is key in addressing the shortage of energy and growth of costs, while improving environmental sustainability.

TürkTraktör went further, also achieving ISO 14064 certification, awarded for the company's accomplishment in implementing a set of tools and programs aimed at measuring, quantifying and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with globally recognized quality standards.

Marco Votta, TürkTraktör General Manager, commented: "The future and future generations are of the utmost importance to us. With our motto of respect for the worker, the customer, and the environment at every stage, it gives us great pride to be the first company in our industry to meet both ISO 50001 and ISO 14064 standards. With the achievement of these two important standards, we are reducing our energy expenditure, starting the era of carbon footprint quantification, and addressing climate change in the best way possible at TürkTraktör, moving towards renewable resources to meet our energy needs."

With the new ISO 50001 and ISO 14064, TürkTraktör has now achieved seven internationally recognized certifications. It has also been awarded ISO 9001 for quality system management, ISO 10002 for customer satisfaction, ISO 14001 for environmental management, OHSAS 18001 for health and safety and ISO 27001 for information security system management. The TürkTraktör plant in Ankara, which is adopting CNH's World Class Manufacturing methodologies, employs more than 2,000 people.

The plant is home to the New Holland Agriculture TT, TD, TDF, T4, and TD3, and Case IH JX and Farmall C tractor ranges. In the first half of 2012, approximately 33% of the tractors manufactured at the plant were destined for export. The facility also produces transmissions and engines. Its products are exported in over 90 counties worldwide.
