Turn Brings Marketers Smarter and Faster Data With Platform Enhancements and New APIs

Launched at the Turn Live Summit, these enhancements include new APIs to enable marketers to activate data for targeting and analytics faster than ever. New platform upgrades unveiled include Audience Insights, a customer research and analytics tool, and other reporting and analytics upgrades to improve the speed and ease of deriving data insights.

At the event, Turn announced the availability of three new APIs -- Data Contract & Taxonomy, Campaign Metadata and Campaign Metrics -- designed to help load data faster, manage campaigns in bulk and automate performance-metric gathering. These APIs provide programmatic control over data ingestion; with the ability to manage metadata around data contracts, rate schedules, permissions and taxonomies via API, clients can activate data within seconds instead of days. This is the first in a series of API releases intended to encourage innovation around specific use cases of the Turn platform, with more to become available throughout 2014. eXelate and Datalogix, two of the industry's leading data providers, were announced as launch partners for the Data Contract & Taxonomy API.

Turn also announced updates to the Turn Platform, including:

  • Improved data visualization for consumer insights. Audience Insights, a powerful research and analytics tool, provides marketers with a profile of consumers as they interact with campaigns and websites. The tool validates that campaigns are reaching the right customer targets and driving web traffic and enables analysis of the impact of media on converters. Audience Insights helps marketers understand what the best customers look like, in order to optimize campaigns against these insights.
  • Faster and simpler access to data insights. Improvements to DataMine Analytics leverage Turn's deep industry expertise to simplify the process of extracting insights from marketers' data. Through a predefined analytics template, marketers can create customized reports querying their data without needing to employ query language.
  • Enhancements to mobile data ingestion, targeting and reporting. Audience Suite now allows marketers to collect rich first-party data in the mobile app ecosystem (for example, tracking in-app purchases) and ingest the data in real-time to immediately inform campaign decisions. Marketers can also track third-party in-app media, providing complete visibility for accurate reporting of digital buys in the mobile channel.
