TVA Sports: The New Destination for Advertisers

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 16, 2014) - Since the National Hockey League's arrival on its airwaves, TVA Sports has become the new destination for advertisers looking to reach sports fans. The long list of major companies already onboard includes Videotron, Scotiabank, Honda, Tim Hortons, Labatt, Chrysler, Lasik MD and Brault & Martineau.

The performance of TVA Sports has elicited tremendous interest from advertisers. For example, the Montreal Canadiens season opening game on October 8, attracted up to 1.2 million viewers, reaching a 41.2% share of men 18 years and over by the end of the game. The second game, broadcast on October 10, pulled in up to 1.3 million, shattered every record since the channel launched. What's more, 99.1% of sports viewing is done live - a statistic that greatly interests advertisers.

"Our advertisers are more than just clients, they are true partners. We consult them to create plans that maximize their advertising budgets and reach the audiences they want," says Isabelle Rochefort, TVA Sports Sales and Marketing Director.

Added to that is the TVA Sports multiplatform offer - TV, web, applications - which broadens the scope of advertising investments and grows the audience of fans following their favourite sports, regardless of the platform. "This is a valued element with marketers, ensuring that we can help them make the most of their budgets, regardless of size. We really have a tailored approach that pleases our advertisers," says Isabelle Rochefort.

Given Quebecers' enthusiastic response to its programming, TVA Sports believes it will reach two million subscribers very soon.
