TVR Communications Establishes Interactive Media Division; Positions Company as Largest Developer, Single-Source Provider of iTV, TV/Telephone Subscription, A/V Products in Healthcare Industry

WOODSIDE, N.Y.--(CCNMatthews - Jul 27, 2005) -

TVR Communications LLC (TVRC) today announced the establishment of its Interactive Media Division, which will focus on the delivery of the company's EnerLook Rover™ interactive patient education and entertainment systems to hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the United States and Canada.

The formation of the division positions TVRC as the largest developer and single-source supplier of interactive television systems, television/telephone subscription programs and audio/visual products and services in the healthcare industry. The company has the largest installed base of fully interactive patient education and entertainment systems in North America.

"Hospitals have turned to us for their television equipment and service needs for more than 50 years," said Michael D. Stebel, chief executive officer of TVR Communications' Interactive Media Division. "With more and more of today's patient population consisting of tech-savvy baby boomers who want the same control and access to information inside of the hospital as they have on the outside of the hospital, hospital administrators are looking to TVRC for new systems that will enhance the patient point-of-care experience. Our interactive product offering, combined with our TV and phone subscription and audio/visual product lines, enables us to meet all of healthcare facilities' needs in this area."

Recently, TVR Communications announced that it has completed the initial phase of deployment of its EnerLook Rover™ interactive patient education and entertainment system at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, in Lakeland, Fla. - one of the largest interactive patient education and entertainment contracts ever awarded in the healthcare industry. More than 3.2 million patients to date have used the company's interactive patient education and entertainment systems.

Unlike other solutions, such as wheeled-in video carts or PC-based systems that place a large burden on nursing and administrative staff and which may require rewiring of the hospital for delivery of the solution, EnerLook Rover Graphical incorporates state-of-the-art software and hardware technology developed by TVR Communications - and proven by hospitals across the nation - that deliver digital patient education and entertainment on demand over the hospital's existing coaxial cabling or local area network.
