Twilight Tour of Historic Property Hosted by Zephyr Agent Bonnie Spindler

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2013) - San Francisco Landmark #48, the residence at 294 Page Street, will be open for a twilight tour on Thursday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Victorian Specialist Bonnie Spindler is hosting this special event, which includes champagne and hors d'oeuvres. Visitors will be invited to enjoy watching the City lights come up from the expansive roof-top.

This notable historic home was built in 1878. Charles Dietle purchased the home in 1885 and retained the services of renowned architect Henry Geilfuss to bring it into full grandeur. Geilfuss, whose work can be viewed throughout the City, utilized "stick work" to emphasize the wood frame, spacious structure and elegance of this Victorian estate. After the 1906 earthquake, Dietle sold the home to John DeMartini for a bag of gold that he had salvaged from his destroyed business. It was designated as San Francisco Landmark #48 in 1972. The property housed law offices for sometime before being sold in 2006 when it returned to its original stature as a distinguished residence.

From the regal terrazzo entry stairs to the floating mahogany staircase in the vestibule, this mansion is made for entertaining as well as intimate family functions. The home conjures a bygone time that has been recaptured and updated with all the modern conveniences. The floor plan, typical for its day, includes a formal dining room that seats 20 replete with a spectacular alabaster Neopolitan Regency chandelier, Eastlake carvings and gold-leaf cornice. The basement features a ballroom, bonus room and access to the patio, yard and two-car garage.

The view of City Hall at night and the peaceful courtyard of the Zen Center all contribute to the sense of beauty and refinement throughout this home. Sun-soaked bedrooms, a stained glass skylight, guest quarters, bay windows, a turret with sweeping roof-top views, and a stable are but a few of the amazing authentic attributes at 294 Page Street. Many more features and flourishes abound in this palatial residence.

The home is listed with Bonnie Spindler at Zephyr Real Estate for $2.995 million. Earning the titles of Top Producer, Company Top Producer and Zephyr's All-Time Top Residential Sales Agent, and becoming the City's fifth largest selling residential agent in 2006, has given Spindler a prominent place in the San Francisco Real Estate community. She is a member in good standing with the San Francisco, the California and the National Association of REALTORS®, and can be reached at bonnie@bonniespindler.com or 415.474.4445.
