Two Generations of Smiths Imagine the Future: Jaden Smith and Will Smith to Be Special Guests of Metro Newspapers in Honor of Earth Day 2013

LUXEMBOURG--(Marketwired - Apr 12, 2013) - Metro International S.A. ("Metro"), the international newspaper group, today announces that Jaden Smith, will join forces with his father, Will Smith, as Special Guests of Metro on 22 April 2013.

In honor of Earth Day and in advance of the duo's highly anticipated action film "After Earth," in which they play father and son, Jaden and Will Smith will take the theme of 'the future' to create exclusive content for Metro. "After Earth" will be released in theaters worldwide on June 7, 2013.

As Special Guests, Jaden and Will Smith will imagine together what the Earth will look like hundreds of years from now, within categories such as environmental impact, advances in technology and transport, and media. The pair will also sit for an exclusive Q&A with Metro. All content will run in Metro's print and digital editions around the world.

In "After Earth," a crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.

Columbia Pictures presents an Overbrook Entertainment/Blinding Edge Pictures production directed by M. Night Shyamalan from a screenplay by Gary Whitta and M. Night Shyamalan and a story by Will Smith, and produced by Caleeb Pinkett, Jada Pinkett Smith & Will Smith, James Lassiter, and M. Night Shyamalan.
