CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2015) - BSN medical, a leading global medical device manufacturer, today announced that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has assigned two Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes for the JOBST® Compri2 - 2-Layer-System.
The HCPCS codes allow health care providers to bill for the Compri2 padding bandage and the Compri2 high compression bandage effective immediately. The JOBST Compri2 - 2-Layer-System may be used to treat chronic venous insufficiency including venous edema and active leg ulcers.

The Compri2 non-elastic, non-woven padding bandage was assigned HCPCS code A6441, and provides added comfort during the treatment of venous edema. The Compri2 high compression bandage, which was assigned HCPCS code A6452, offers patients a knitted, woven, load resistance bandage that is easy to use and ideal for the management of venous ulcers and associated conditions.
HCPCS was established in 1978 to provide standardized coding for describing specific items and services provided in health care delivery. Used by Medicare, HCPCS codes are monitored by CMS, and they are based on the Current Procedural Technology (CPT) codes developed by the American Medical Association.
