Two Snowmobile Clubs in the Capitale-Nationale Administrative Region Receive Funding from the Government of Canada

SAINTE-CATHERINE-DE-LA-JACQUES-CARTIER, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec. 17, 2014) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that two snowmobile clubs in the Capitale-Nationale administrative region have been granted financial support for the acquisition of new snow grooming equipment.

The assistance has been awarded in the form of $210,300 in total non-repayable funding through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program, with Club motoneige de la Jacques-Cartier Inc. receiving $82,800 and Club Les Aventuriers de Charlevoix Inc., $127,500.

Quick facts

• This support will allow the two organizations to purchase higher-performance equipment in order to better service heavily-travelled trails.
• Club motoneige de la Jacques-Cartier Inc. is responsible for the upkeep of 150 kilometres of snowmobile trails in the heart of the Jacques-Cartier RCM, among them the Trans-Québec 3.
• Club Les Aventuriers de Charlevoix Inc., for its part, maintains 327 kilometres of trails in the Charlevoix-Est RCM, a network that is very popular with American tourists, among others.
• Snowmobiling generates major economic spinoffs for the Québec and Charlevoix regions.
