Twonky Beams Media With Your Android Mobile

New Android App Lets You Beam Content From Your Phone and the Web to Any Internet-Connected Device

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - October 8, 2010) -  PacketVideo (PV) announced today its new Twonky Mobile Android app, which lets you play and share media directly from your phone with the push of a button. With the app, you can stream personal and online media from your phone to any Web-connected gadget or device. Twonky Mobile lets you have on-the-go access to your media without being tethered to a PC or requiring clunky cables to connect to devices.

With Twonky's patent pending Beaming technology, you can discover content from the internet or local content on your phone and enjoy it with friends and family on your web-connected TV or stereo.

To make beaming content easy and intuitive, Twonky Mobile has a number of automated features. It remembers your preferences for each network you connect to -- distinguishing whether you're connected to your home or work network, for example, and on each network which devices you use most, what media you usually view and what your sharing preferences are. Additionally, Twonky's auto-copy feature lets you opt to have the media on your phone automatically copied to your PC or MAC. So when you come home and launch Twonky Mobile, all new content will be automatically transferred to your PC or MAC.

"PacketVideo was the pioneer of putting video on a mobile phone -- we have a long history of creating multimedia experiences on wireless devices and with this application and our Twonky products, we're continuing to innovate to enable people to share media anytime, anywhere on any device," said Osama Alshaykh, CTO of PacketVideo. "We've designed Twonky Mobile to be easy and intuitive for anyone to use, because we believe unleashing your media shouldn't be a privilege limited to a few tech-savvy people but an experience accessible to every music, video and photo lover."

Twonky Mobile for Android is available today in the Android Store and will be free for a limited time only. Starting in January 2011, the app will be $2.99.
