Tyler Cooper MD, MPH, Named President and Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Aerobics

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2014) - Tyler Cooper, MD, MPH, preventive medicine physician, is named President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cooper Aerobics. In his new role, in addition to practicing preventive medicine, he oversees the company's seven health and wellness businesses. Dr. Tyler Cooper has been a practicing preventive physician at Cooper Clinic since 2006 and has served as CEO of Cooper Aerobics Enterprises, Inc. since 2007. Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH, remains as Chairman and Founder of Cooper Aerobics.

As President and CEO Dr. Tyler Cooper oversees the operations at Cooper Clinic, Cooper Fitness Center, Cooper Spa, Cooper Hotel and Conference Center, Cooper Healthy Living (formerly Cooper Wellness), Cooper Complete and Cooper Wellness Strategies (formerly Cooper Consulting Partners). He has held an integral position in the company throughout his life, especially the last seven years as he led the $7.5 million Cooper Fitness Center renovation that was unveiled this February. The renovation efforts continue campus-wide with a $1 million renovation of Cooper Hotel and Conference Center currently underway. Dr. Tyler Cooper's background in business provides the foundation for his initiatives to expand Cooper Aerobics locally and globally reaching to Hungary and China through the development of Cooper Licensing LLC.

Dr. Tyler Cooper became keenly interested in introducing the Cooper philosophy to Corporate America through Cooper Wellness Strategies. As Founding Partner in 1995, Dr. Tyler Cooper and Cooper Wellness Strategies provide strategic business-to-business worksite wellness programs to improve executive and employee health. Cooper Wellness Strategies provides customized services in three main areas: strategy consulting, leader training and lifestyle education. Dr. Tyler Cooper received a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio and a Master of Public Health in Health Care Management from Harvard University. He completed his internship in Family Practice at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va. and his preventive medicine residency at The University of South Carolina. Before pursuing his education in medicine, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Baylor University. Dr. Tyler Cooper lived abroad and worked in business development for Cooper Aerobics for four years before deciding to begin medical school.

His father, Dr. Cooper, founded the first Dallas Heart Walk in 1992 and this year the Dallas Division is celebrating the 20th year anniversary with Dr. Cooper as the Honorary Chairman.
