tyntec Announces Carrier-Grade IPX Connectivity to Provide Highly Secure and Cost-Effective SMS

Mobile Interaction Specialist Uses Operator-Standard Secure IP Connection to Enhance Quality of SMS

MUNICH, GERMANY--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2012) - Mobile interaction specialist tyntec today announced the launch of a carrier-grade IPX (Internet Packet Exchange) connection to provide mobile operators with the highest possible quality SMS transmission. With IPX connectivity, tyntec can now establish a technical link to mobile operators via a high-grade IP connection provided by Telefonica which utilizes network operator infrastructure. IPX provides increased security, whilst simultaneously reducing cost, underscoring tyntec's commitment to enabling high quality SMS.

Mobile operators are increasingly recognizing the value and opportunities that IPX can offer. With the proliferation of IP in the mobile industry in recent years, there is an escalating demand for secure and private IP networks that can meet consumers' growing and increasingly complex traffic demands. From voice services to data and multimedia, IPX offers a high level of security and scalability, and cuts costs by reducing the number of connections needed on a network.

IPX creates a quasi-private and highly secure network for operators. As operators begin to transition to IP to support new multimedia services, IPX connectivity offers a secure, low-latency high-quality alternative to the public Internet and traditional TDM (Time Division Multiplex)-based interconnections.

The provisioning of IPX connectivity by tyntec aligns with the company's proven track record for delivering high quality SMS services backed by Service Level Agreements (SLAs). tyntec is partnered with more than 20 mobile operators worldwide; their technology platform enables carriers to profit from additional international SMS traffic via their networks.

"tyntec is among a small group of select companies around the world that can enable IPX as a connectivity option for operator partners," said Thorsten Trapp, tyntec CTO. "This technical advancement underlines the high level of trust that we have with our network partners and enhances the high quality approach to messaging that we have provided since our founding ten years ago. There can be no doubt that IPX will play a significant role in enabling services across 4G networks currently in development."
