Typhoon Continues the 20,000 Meters Drill Program at Fayolle and Aiguebelle-Goldfields

LAVAL, CANADA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 12, 2006) - Typhoon Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TOO) is pleased to announce the start of an aggressive NQ diamond drill program on December 6, 2006 at the Fayolle and Aiguebelle-Goldfields properties, in the Rouyn-Noranda Mining Camp in northern Quebec.

This program is part of the 20,000 meters drill campaign previously announced in the spring 2006 and will cover the December 2006 to April 2007 period. The drilling aims at extending the Fayolle and Aiguebelle-Goldfields gold mineralization laterally, to the west-northwest at Fayolle towards Aiguebelle-Goldfields, and at depth.

The program should confirm and extends the gold values intersected in drilling during the summer 2006 campaign at Aiguebelle-Goldfields, which intersected 2.2 g/t Au over 6.0 meters in AIG-06-03, and Fayolle which previously intersected 42.7 g/t Au over 18.7 meters in FA-06-15; 16.9 g/t Au over 6.8 meters in FA-06-19; 36.1 g/t Au over 5.5 meters in FA-06-27, and 4.16 g/t Au over 29.6 meters in FA-06-31. Typhoon will also continue working on a scoping study at Fayolle. The Fayolle and Aiguebelle-Goldfields properties form an 8 kilometer long segment of the Destor-Porcupine Fault just north of the Rouyn-Noranda Mining Camp. Both properties present similar characteristics with a number of World-Class gold deposits, such as the Kiena and Holloway Deposits.

The first drill assay results are expected by mid-January 2007. The Fayolle and Aiguebelle-Goldfields exploration programs are planned under the supervision of Mr. Jean Lafleur, P. Geo. (OGQ), a qualified person under the National Instrument 43-101. This news release and been prepared under the supervision of Mr. Lafleur, a Director and Technical Advisor of the Company.
