Typhoon Intersects Gold at Grades Exceeding 1 Oz/t Gold Over 18 Feet

LAVAL, CANADA--(CCNMatthews - May 31, 2006) - Typhoon Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TOO) is pleased to announce the results for drill holes FA-06-22 to 28 and that the Summer drilling campaign will start in June.

FA-06-27 was drilled 35 meters (115 feet) west of FA-05-15 and returned 25.0 g/t gold over 9.0 meters (0.73 oz/t Au over 29.5 feet) including 36.1 g/t Au over 5.5 meters (1.05 on/t Au over 18.0 feet). This drill hole confirms the extent of the FA-05-15 lens to over 85 meters in length (280 feet).

FA-06-22 intersected two mineralized zones grading 2.84 g/t gold over 17.0 meters (0.08 oz/t Au over 55.8 feet), including 9.70 g/t gold over 5.0 meters (0.28 oz/t Au over 16.4 feet), as well as 6.60 g/t gold over 7.5 meters (0.19 oz/t Au over 24.6 feet). FA-06-28 cut four mineralized zones; the best two intersections gave 10.23 g/t gold over 5.5 meters (0.30 oz/t Au over 18.0 feet) and 4.10 g/t gold over 4.5 meters (0.12 oz/t Au over 14.8 feet). These results indicate the presence of high grade lenses or Sigma-type jewellery boxes also cut by drill holes FA-06-04, 12, 18, 21 and 22. The best interval results from these assays are(i) :

(i) All assay results are available on the Company's website at
www.explorationtyphon.com. Drill holes FA-06-23, 24 and 26 did
not intersect significant assay intervals. Grades are uncut.
Lengths are measured along the core axis and are not true widths.
The quality assurance and quality control statement was
previously reported in the press release dated April 11, 2006.

The Winter 2006 drill campaign has confirmed the presence of two new high grade lenses or Sigma-type jewellery boxes, termed FA-06-15 (from corridor #1) and FA-06-18 (from corridor #4), which complement the third lens, FA-05-15 (from corridor #2) discovered during Summer 2005 drilling campaign.

Since the summer 2005, Typhoon identified interested several high grade intervals, of which some of the most significant are:

- FA-05-15 : 1.27 oz/t Au over 82.2 feet
- FA-05-28 : 0.94 oz/t Au over 21.5 feet

- FA-06-15 : 1.25 oz/t Au over 61.4 feet, located 400 feet
southwest of FA-05-15;
- FA-06-19 : 0.74 oz/t Au over 14.8 feet
- FA-06-27 : 1.05 oz/t Au over 18.0 feet.

Gold assay results from the 71 Typhoon drill holes completed in 2004, 2005 and 2006 are available on the Company's website at www.explorationtyphon.com. Preparation works are ongoing since May 15 at Fayolle and Aiguebelle-Goldfields for the Summer 2006 drilling campaign.
