Typhoon Intersects a New Higher Grade Lens Grading 1.25 OZ/T Gold Over 61.4 Feet at Fayolle

LAVAL, CANADA--(CCNMatthews - April 10, 2006) - Typhoon Exploration inc. (TSX VENTURE:TOO) is pleased to announce assay results of a second set of samples from the Winter 2006 drill program at the Company's 100% owned Fayolle Property. New assay results have been received for 6 drill holes from FA-06-10 to FA-06-15 (refer to Figure 1 - Location Map).

- FA-06-15 grading 27.0 g/t gold over 31.5 meters (0.79 oz/t gold
over 103.3 feet);
- FA-06-12 grading 8.43 g/t gold over 13.0 meters (0.25 oz/t gold
over 42.7 feet).

New Assay Results (refer to Assay Table below for FA-06-10 to 15)

Two additional Sigma-type lenses were discovered within alteration corridors 1 and 3, respectively. FA-06-15 intersected a higher grade gold lenses, or Sigma-type jewellery box, with a mineralization interval of 31.5 meters (or 103.3 feet) at a grade of 27.0 g/t (0.79 oz/t) gold including 42.70 g/t (1.25 oz/t) gold over 18.7 meters (61.4 feet). This lens appears similar to the FA-05-15 lens located in alteration corridor 2, but located further south west by 120 meters (or 400 feet) in alteration corridor 1.

FA-06-12 intersected alteration corridor 3 with a 51.3 meter (168.3 feet) interval grading 2.81 g/t (0.08 oz/t) gold, containing one additional higher grade mineralized lens carrying 8.43 g/t (0.25 oz/t) gold over 13.0 meters (42.7 feet). FA-06-04, located at the same drill site but cored at a different angle cut 3.70 g/t (0.11 oz/t) gold over 16.5 meters (54.1 feet).

Other significant intersections were identified in DDH FA-06-11, 13 and 14. FA-06-11 intersected 3 gold-bearing zones within alteration corridor 3 with grades up to 1.38 g/t gold over 4.4 meters. FA-06-13 intersected a single zone grading 1.99 g/t gold over 9.0 meters. FA-06-14 intersected 3 zones in alteration corridor 1 that yielded up to 3.86 g/t gold over 3.0 meters.

A total of 24 holes have now been completed in the 2006 program for 4,288 meters (refer to Figure 1 Location Map). A total of 1,685 assay samples have been shipped to the assay laboratory, from which 1,218 gold assay results have now been received from drill holes FA-06-01 to 15. The alteration corridors 1 thru 4 are still open in all directions and at least two more Sigma-type jewellery boxes or lenses in FA-06-12 and FA-06-15 have been identified to date. Additional results are pending from the same alteration corridors and higher grade lenses. Assay results are pending for 9 holes (FA-06-16 to 24), which are located in these same alteration corridors and high grade lenses, will be release shortly. Results from FA-06-01 to FA-06-09 were previously reported on March 23, 2006.

Assay Table for FA-06-10 to 15 is available at the following address:

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

All 24 drill holes have been logged with mineralized samples shipped to an accredited assay laboratory for gold assaying. Assaying follows a pre-established sampling and assay protocol. Mineralized drill core is sawed in half and sampled on lengths varying between 0.3 to 1.5 meters, sealed in bags, and sent to Expert Laboratory in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, where they are assayed for gold using the Fire-Assay preparation method and an Atomic-Absorption finish. Results greater than 1,000 ppb Au are re-assayed using a gravimetric finish. A quality control program (QA/QC) was implemented by the laboratory to insure the precision of the analytical method and results. Whole-rock sampling and analysis is also being carried out on the drill core for detailed vectoring of the gold mineralization.

The Fayolle and adjacent Aiguebelle-Goldfields projects are managed by Jean Lafleur, P. Geol. (OGQ). Mr. Lafleur, a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, supervised the preparation of the information in this news release.
