Ubiquity Software Announces New Developer Solution for Microsoft Connected Services Framework

Ubiquity SIP A/S Gateway Helps .NET Developers Create Applications With Real-Time Communication Services

BARCELONA, SPAIN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 14, 2007 -- 3GSM World Congress -- Ubiquity Software (LSE: UBQ) today announced the launch of its SIP A/S Gateway, a limited availability developer release for Microsoft Connected Services Framework ("SIP A/S Gateway"). The SIP A/S Gateway is a new developer solution that facilitates the creation and testing of "mashup" applications based on Microsoft's Connected Services Framework and Ubiquity's SIP Application Server (SIP A/S).

With solutions such as the award-winning Ubiquity SIP A/S, developers can extend the existing mashup capabilities of Microsoft Connected Services Framework to include real-time, carrier-class communications services, such as IVR, VoIP, IP conferencing, and other telephony-related services. The SIP A/S Gateway exposes Ubiquity's Open Web Services, a suite of service components available within Ubiquity's SIP SOA development framework that deliver capabilities defined by the ETSI Parlay X 2.0 specification. By utilizing the SIP A/S Gateway as the connector between Connected Services Framework and the SIP A/S, .NET developers can quickly and easily add real-time telephony services into their applications.

The full set of services exposed through the SIP A/S Gateway includes:

-- Third Party Call Control - enables an application to trigger the
    connection of two parties into a call;
-- Multimedia Conferencing - enables the connection of multiple parties
    into an audio conference and a series of interactive conference control
    functions such as muting or adding participants;
-- Call Handling - enables a series of value-added inbound calling
    features, including call forwarding and call blocking;
--  Audio Call - enables an audio announcement to be played to a party;
-- Call Notification - provides a notification of an incoming call to an
Integrating Ubiquity's real-time communication capabilities with Connected Services Framework can provide carriers additional opportunities to provide innovative consumer and business services. For example, operators using Microsoft Exchange to provide hosted e-mail services can leverage Microsoft Connected Services Framework and the SIP A/S to create new unified communication applications that combine their existing Exchange messaging capabilities with real-time communications. An example of this would be the ability to automatically schedule a call in Exchange for two people trying to reach one another and then connecting them together at the scheduled time. Tech Mahindra, one of Ubiquity's newest solution partners, will be demonstrating a prototype of a similar solution, dubbed "Automatic Call Back," at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona in Ubiquity's Hospitality Suite 3.1HS197, located on the Gallery level accessed from Hall 1.

The SIP A/S Gateway developer release will be available to select UDN subscribers in March 2007 as a download from the Ubiquity Developer Network ( In addition, the SIP A/S Gateway will be showcased to developers in the Microsoft Connected Services Sandbox, a new Microsoft program designed to unite independent software vendors (ISVs), developers, systems integrators (SIs), network equipment providers (NEPs) and telecommunications service providers in developing and testing new compelling communications services, and ultimately bringing these new services to market.

"Integrating business and telecommunications systems offers a wide range of product opportunities for carriers, and Ubiquity is committed to providing the needed development tools and runtime platform so independent software developers and service providers can build this next generation of converged applications," said John Nye, Vice President of Product Marketing and PLM for Ubiquity Software. "With the SIP A/S and SIP A/S Gateway, new application concepts based on the Microsoft Connected Services Framework can harness the power and enhanced productivity of real-time communication services."
