UCLA Extension Salutes 12 for Excellence in Instruction, Leadership, & Extraordinary Mentoring in Continuing Education

Award Recognizes Expert Professionals in Industries Ranging from the Arts to Business to Education to Engineering and Humanities


LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - May 18, 2015) -  UCLA Extension announced today honors for 12 instructors who give exemplary service in teaching, leadership and mentoring. This dedicated group of industry experts will be acknowledged at the Ninth Annual Distinguished Instructor Awards on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, Carnesale Commons, UCLA Campus.

This year's Distinguished Instructor Awardees are working professionals whose expertise range from environmental compliance, crisis communications, accounting, interior design, social media marketing, counseling, engineering and ESL. Annually, UCLA Extension celebrates the finest instructors, acknowledging their leadership roles in their industries, in teaching, and in mentoring adult professionals. They actively support the important educational and public service goals of UCLA Extension.

American Language Center: David Chrisman and Scott Gist; The Arts: Darlene Pickell and Fernando deMoraes, (UCLA Extension Certificate Graduation Keynote Speaker (2014); Business, Management, and Legal Programs: David Bergmann and Tim Farrell; Education: Julia Varriale and Robert Brin; Engineering & Technology: Vincent Padilla and Ron Takiguchi; Humanities and Sciences: Betsy Spier and Ronald Cooper.
