UK Entertainment Service Provider Optimizes Efficiency and Network Availability With Infoblox Solution

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 17, 2005 -- Infoblox Inc., a developer of network identity appliances for identity-driven networks (IDNs), today announced that Video Networks Ltd., a leading UK provider of broadband entertainment through its interactive TV, video on-demand (VOD) and broadband internet service, marketed under the brand name Homechoice, has selected Infoblox appliances to perform highly reliable and manageable domain name resolution (DNS) services -- essential to the operation of its IP network.

Homechoice offers over 15,000 subscribers throughout London more than 5,000 TV shows, movies and music videos on demand, bundled with a broadband internet service. VideoNetworks Ltd.'s reputation and business model relies on providing 24x7 entertainment services and internet access for its customers. Reliability of DNS services is paramount to ensure that VideoNetworks Ltd. can deliver revenue-generating Internet, TV or video on-demand services to its customers. Additionally, as a services operator, maintaining a low total cost of ownership (TCO) for the operation of its network infrastructure is essential to preserving the company's bottom line and keeping service prices reasonable for its customers.

To address these critical requirements, VideoNetworks Ltd. decided to replace its previous Linux/BIND DNS solution, and selected Infoblox purpose-built, hardened appliances running the DNSone™ and Keystone™ modules.

Jim Mozley, project manager with VideoNetworks Ltd., commented, "We selected Infoblox appliances because of the low maintenance model. And, using the Keystone module, the software can operate across a grid so that we can apply changes to one device and have them propagated throughout the system instantaneously without having to touch each one. The solution also provides us with improved resilience over our previous implementation."

Infoblox's purpose-built, hardened appliance-based solution offers one-button upgrades, high-availability and fault tolerance features for reliability, scalability, management and security advantages. VideoNetworks Ltd. has deployed Infoblox appliances running the DNSone module -- offering integrated DNS and dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) services -- in five of its facilities throughout London. The DNS services provided by the Infoblox appliances support a range of applications, including Homechoice customers' Internet access requests, internal domain name resolution for VideoNetworks Ltd.'s network infrastructure, and support for the in-house systems that deliver video services.

The Infoblox Keystone module links the appliances into a robust ID grid to ensure unparalleled service availability and management benefits. Unified, grid-wide management simplifies administration and powerful features such as system-wide software upgrades propagated with the touch of a button lower operational costs.

Mozley concluded, "The Infoblox appliances provide the essential foundation we require for nonstop operation of the DNS services that are fundamental to our business. With Infoblox, we are confident and assured that DNS will operate flawlessly, helping to maintain 24x7 network availability without incurring unnecessary IT overhead."
